Rae started serving her community in childhood. It was instilled at a young age by a mother who worked in disaster and volunteer management. She was taught to not only step up and help when asked, but to be on the look out for those opportunities to serve. She remembers many times helping out at canteens during disasters and waiting patiently in the car with her brother while her mother tended to accident victims. Rae has continued that early teaching by finding ways to give back to others. As a servant leader, she has stood up in times of crisis from putting on benefits for slide victims, amassing 8,000 square feet of rummage items for fire victims to shop for free, to being the president of two non-profit service organizations - Oregon City Lions Club and Cascade Blues Association.
She doesn't just talk about doing something, she does it, especially if it involves others in need.
Rae has been active in City of Oregon City committees, neighborhood associations and events for almost 20 years.
Rae worked for Clackamas County government for ten years in the tourism department. She helped to promote and grow business throughout the area including Oregon City. She also came back and worked in the Emergency Operations Center both in Social Services and Disaster Management to support the food box program and COVID clinics and supplies during the pandemic. Currently as a self-employed marketing and events professional, she continues to concentrate on small businesses, events and service projects.in Clackamas County.
